Terms of Service

Light Rail Living (“the Service”) is operated by Gorin Collective LLC, Phoenix, Arizona. By using lightrailliving.com, creating an account, checking in, running missions, or buying a Rail Partners plan, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and, for business customers, our Refund Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service helps riders plan trips and discover places along the Valley Metro light rail in the Phoenix area. It is free for riders. Stop pages, itineraries, the concierge, the Passport and missions are provided for planning and entertainment.

• We are not Valley Metro. The Service is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Valley Metro, the City of Phoenix, or any transit agency. Schedules, fares and service changes come from Valley Metro, not from us.
• Information can be wrong. Hours, prices, walk times, weather and business details are collected from public sources and partners and may be outdated. Confirm before you travel.
• Your safety is your responsibility. Phoenix heat, traffic and platforms are real. Follow posted rules and use judgement. Venues marked 21+ enforce their own age rules.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Keep your sign-in credentials private and tell us if you think your account has been used without permission. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.

The Passport is a promotional program. Fare Points, stamps, badges, streaks and mission rewards are granted at our discretion to reward real visits along the line.

• Points have no cash value, cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and are not property.
• Check in only when you are physically at the place. Spoofed or simulated location, automation, multiple accounts, or any other attempt to earn rewards without a real visit is abuse. We may remove points, stamps and badges earned that way and close the account.
• Rewards offered by Rail Partners are provided by that business, subject to its own conditions and availability.
• We may change point values, missions, seasons and levels, or end the program, at any time. We will give notice for material changes.

Check-ins and photo missions use your device location when you tap the button, never in the background. Photos you submit for a mission must be taken by you, at that place, at that time. We check submissions automatically, including with artificial-intelligence services, and may reject a photo without explanation. Accepted photos are stored so we can show them in your Passport and audit rewards; see the Privacy Policy for how long we keep them.

You own the reviews, tips, photos, collections and posts you create. You give Gorin Collective LLC a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce and share that content in the Service and in materials that promote the Service, for as long as it remains on the Service. Public content, such as reviews and public collections, may be shown to other riders and to the business it concerns.

Do not post content that is false, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, sexual, illegal, or that you do not have the right to share. We may remove content and restrict accounts at our discretion.

• You must be authorized to act for the business you enroll, and the information you provide must be accurate.
• Paid plans are billed in advance by card through our payment processor, Stripe, at the price shown when you subscribe. Plans renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time; your plan runs to the end of the paid period. Refunds follow the Refund Policy.
• During the pilot, participation is free. You will never be charged without choosing a plan and agreeing to its price first.
• Sponsored placements, missions and offers are labelled as sponsored to riders. We decide where and how they appear and may decline or remove content that is misleading or off-brand.
• We do not guarantee visits, redemptions, revenue or search position. Visit counts come from rider check-ins and may be adjusted for abuse.
• Offers you publish are your responsibility to honour at your counter, as written, while they are live.

Do not scrape or bulk-download the Service, probe or overload our systems, reverse engineer the app, interfere with other riders, impersonate anyone, or use the Service for anything unlawful.

The Service relies on third parties, including Supabase (accounts and data), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (business payments; we never see or store card numbers), Mapbox (maps), OpenWeather (weather), Google (business data and optional sign-in), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (error reporting) and Anthropic (AI features). Their terms apply to their services.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gorin Collective LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars.

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms, for abuse of the Passport program, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as content licenses for content already shared, disclaimers and limitation of liability, survive termination.

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do. For material changes we will notify account holders by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If we have a dispute, contact us first and we will try to resolve it informally within thirty days. Otherwise, disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
